About

STARSEN KOO, originally from Seoul and now based in London, is an artist who explores the intersection of fashion and sculpture through wearable sculptures. Starsen received an MA in Sculpturewear from the Royal College of Art, London. The practice is characterized by the use of techniques such as casting and robotics, which capture and preserve the fluidity of fabrics, transforming garments into dynamic sculptural pieces.

Starsen's work was showcased in the RCA MA Degree Show, where the Moving Sculpture collection was highly acclaimed.

Starsen’s work challenges traditional perceptions of space and self-expression, often exploring the tension between stillness and movement. By immobilizing the natural fluidity of fabrics, the work examines the interplay between fashion and sculpture, presenting garments that transcend mere functionality to become independent art pieces.
